A winter welcome of snow and seasonal character here in Sherborne. When winter descended on Green Cottage the colours and character of the garden were smothered in a new an spectacular sparkle. Our first guest in the magical garden happened to be Jack Frost. We had been gradually preparing the cottage for the arrival of our first guests when we open for business in April. The snow arrived on a February Friday and the always charming facade of Grenn Cottage presented a new warmth and glow seldom seen here in Dorset. Footprints for our resident squirrel were the only intrusion on the whitened wonderland. As I worked in the kitchen the fleeting frolicks of one of our many robins that frequent the garden would draw my attention back out into the garden. I had just about grown to ignore the beauty out of the window and be able to concentrate on my work but the coming of snow seems a distraction you never grow out of.
